Pronunciation: Dah-gat
Fabric:
Introducing the exquisite fabric known as "Kalinga," meticulously created by Nardas, a weaving company with a rich history located in the northern Philippine region. The weaving room hums with focused energy as 25 talented weavers, predominantly women, craft a diverse array of textiles. To produce 98 meters of this remarkable fabric, typically takes a month and a half, underscoring the dedication and skill of these artisans. It's hard not to appreciate the artistry and skilled weavers with such a labor-intensive process. Notably, handweaving serves as a vital source of livelihood, particularly for local women, affirming its cultural and economic significance.
